Purpose
An agency brings its brokers onto UZIO so each broker can manage their own book of clients. As the agency you add brokers, keep their details current, send them registration links, and decide which broker looks after which client. Agency users can also do anything a broker or account manager can do, so you can step in on any client.
Who can do this: agency users only. Brokers cannot add other brokers.
Add brokers
- From the global menu, click Manage Brokers.
- Click Add Broker.
- Choose how to add them:
- Upload Template is best for several brokers at once. Download the template, fill in every column marked with an asterisk, save it, and upload it. UZIO emails you when the file has been processed, including when rows fail.
- Enter Manually is best for one or two. Enter the broker's personal details, their identification (below), their market segment type, and their contact details, then click Save.
Identification: NPN or Sales Rep ID
Each broker is identified by either a Broker NPN or a Sales Rep ID, never both. Entering one disables the other. Broker Tax ID and carrier appointments are optional.
Each new broker receives a Welcome to email with a Register Now button. See Registering and Logging In to the Broker Portal.
Manage your brokers
Search the Manage Brokers list by name, email, contact number, NPN or sales rep ID. Each broker's actions are:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| View | Shows the broker's personal and contact details |
| Edit | Updates their details. The broker is emailed that their profile was updated. |
| Send Registration Link | Sends a fresh registration email to a broker who has not registered yet |
| Submit Password Reset Request | Sends a registered broker a password reset |
Assign clients to brokers
- Click Clients.
- Next to the client, click the Assign to Broker action icon.
- Click Assign next to the broker who should look after this client.
To move the client to another broker, click that broker's Assign icon. To unassign, click Remove.
Note: Account managers linked to a broker see that broker's clients. When you move a client to a different broker, the account managers who can see it change too. See Adding Account Managers to Help Service Your Clients.
Common problems
A broker never received their registration email
Check the email address on their record with View, correct it with Edit if needed, then use Send Registration Link. The resend arrives with the subject Register to followed by your platform's name.
The NPN field is greyed out
You have already entered a Sales Rep ID. A broker has one or the other. Clear the Sales Rep ID to enter an NPN.
My template upload failed
Open the failure email, fix the rows it lists (most often a missing asterisked column or a duplicate email address), and upload again. Email addresses must be unique across UZIO, because each one becomes a login.
How do I deactivate a broker who has left?
Deactivation is not done from the broker list. Contact UZIO Support (below). The broker receives a Your account has been deactivated email once it is done.
Still stuck?
