Creating and Running Custom Reports for Your DSPs (Amazon Audit Teams)

Modified on Sun, 11 Oct at 10:41 AM

Purpose

Custom Report Builder lets Amazon Audit Teams build its own reports on Delivery Service Partner (DSP) data, without waiting for a standard report or asking each DSP for a file. You choose the fields, choose which DSPs to include, and UZIO returns one consolidated report covering all of them. Save the setup as a template and you can run it again whenever you need fresh data, or schedule it.

The builder works the same way as it does for employers. This article covers what is different when you use it from the Broker Portal, and links to the employer articles for the shared steps.

Who this is for: Amazon users who sign in to the UZIO Broker Portal to report on DSPs (Amazon Audit Teams).

When to use this

  • You need the same data from several DSPs in one file, for example a weekly time-entry review across a region.
  • No standard report has the columns you need.
  • You want a report delivered on a regular schedule to your team.

Use a standard report instead when one already gives you what you need.

Who has access

  • Custom Report Builder is turned on automatically for Amazon users in the Broker Portal. There is nothing to configure.
  • Access is set up per user by UZIO when your Amazon account is provisioned.
  • You sign in to the Broker Portal through single sign-on (SSO).
  • In the Broker Portal you see two things: the list of your DSPs, which you can open in view-only mode, and Reports, where you build reports in Custom Report Builder.
  • Other broker users (agencies, brokers and account managers outside the Amazon program) do not have Custom Report Builder in the Broker Portal.

As an Amazon user you can use every data module in the builder:

  • Company
  • Employee
  • Payroll
  • Time Tracking
  • Time Off
  • Documents (I-9 and E-Verify)

See What data you can report on for the field groups in each module.

What you can and cannot do

You can:

  • Create, preview and save report templates.
  • Run templates and view or download the results.
  • Schedule templates you created.
  • Use templates your teammates have saved.

You cannot change anything inside a DSP's account. Outside Custom Report Builder, Amazon users have view-only access to DSP accounts. Reports read DSP data; they never change it.

DSP note: Building and saving templates is the only place in the Broker Portal where Amazon users create anything. Everywhere else in a DSP's account, your access is view-only. See Working Inside a Client's Employer Account.

Templates are shared with your team; runs are private

ItemWho sees it
Report TemplatesEveryone on your team (your broker organization). A template one person saves can be run by everyone else, so the team can keep one shared library.
Generated ReportsOnly you. Each person sees only the runs they started, even on a shared template.

Create a template for one or more DSPs

  1. In the Broker Portal, go to Reports > Custom Report Builder.
  2. Click Create New Report.
  3. In Company Name, choose the DSPs to include. It is a multi-select list, and each DSP is shown as its company name and DSP code (for example, DSP company name - DSP code).
    • One DSP: select just that DSP.
    • Several DSPs: select each one. You can search the list by DSP code.
    • All DSPs: click Select All. The template then covers every DSP assigned to your broker organization at the time each report runs, including DSPs added after you saved it.
  4. Enter a Report Name and, optionally, a Description.
  5. Add the fields you need. Several identifying fields are pre-selected, including Employee ID, First Name, Last Name, DSP Code and Station Code.
  6. Click Next and set at least one date criterion.
  7. Click Preview Report and check the rows.
  8. Click Save.

The list of DSPs you can choose from is every DSP assigned to your Amazon broker organization.

For the detail of each step (field groups, criteria, date limits, preview), follow Creating a Custom Report Template. It applies as written, apart from the DSP selection above.

Tip: Keep DSP Code and Station Code in every report. With several DSPs in one file, they are how you tell the rows apart, and you can filter the results grid on DSP Code to look at one DSP without building a new template.

Note: A template saved with individual DSPs keeps exactly those DSPs, and a DSP added later is not included. To change the selection, edit the template, or use Save as Template to keep both versions. A template saved with Select All picks up new DSPs automatically. See Managing Your Report Templates and Runs.

Run and download a report

  1. Go to Reports > Custom Report Builder > Report Templates.
  2. Open the template's ⋮ menu and click Run Report.
  3. If the template uses Ask at Runtime, enter the dates.
  4. Open the run from Generated Reports when its status is Completed.
  5. View it in the grid, or download it as CSV or Excel.

The report combines every DSP in the template into one result.

Each run records the DSPs it covered when it started. A DSP added later appears in the next run, not in a run that already exists.

Warning: Download links expire 30 minutes after the run completes. Download the file promptly, or run the template again for a fresh link.

For statuses, retries and deleting runs, see Running a Report and Downloading Results.

Schedule a report

Scheduling works exactly as it does for employers. See Scheduling Automated Report Delivery.

What to know as an Amazon user:

  • Only the person who created a template can add, change or delete its schedules. To schedule a teammate's template, save your own copy with Save as Template.
  • You can add teammates from your broker organization as recipients, or type email addresses.
  • The email links to Generated Reports. Recipients need their own Broker Portal sign-in to open the report, so send it to people on your team.
  • Use a rolling date preset (for example Last Week) on scheduled templates. Ask at Runtime cannot be answered on a scheduled run.
  • A scheduled Select All template runs for every DSP its owner can still access. It is suspended only if the owner can no longer access any of them.

Sensitive fields are masked

Sensitive employee fields are masked for Amazon users by default, on screen and in reports. The settings are the same for everyone on your team and cannot be changed per user.

FieldWhat you see
Social Security Number (SSN)Fully masked
Date of BirthFully masked
Gender IdentityFully masked
Compensation StatementNot masked
Routing NumberPartially masked
Bank Account NumberPartially masked
Personal EmailPartially masked
Personal PhonePartially masked

DSP owners and their own users are not affected by these settings.

Expected outcome

  • Your template appears under Report Templates, where your teammates can also see and run it.
  • Each run appears under your Generated Reports, with one consolidated result for all the DSPs in the template.
  • Scheduled runs email the recipients a link when the report is ready.

Common problems

Why don't I see Custom Report Builder in the Broker Portal?

Custom Report Builder is available only to Amazon users. If you are an Amazon user and do not see it, your account may not have been set up with Amazon user access. Contact UZIO Support (below).

Why is a DSP missing from the list?

The list shows only DSPs assigned to your Amazon broker organization.

  • Missing from a saved template's results: the template was probably saved with individual DSPs, so a DSP added later is not included. Edit the template and select the DSP, or choose Select All so future DSPs are included automatically.
  • Missing from the Company Name list: if a DSP should be there and is not, contact UZIO Support with the DSP code.

My report failed with "Data volume too large". What now?

A run across many DSPs can return more rows than one run allows. Try one of these:

  • Narrow the date range.
  • Select fewer DSPs and run the template in batches.
  • Remove fields you do not need, especially audit (history) fields, which return one row per change.

Why does a Time Tracking report reject my date range?

Time Tracking criteria cannot span more than 14 days, whatever the number of DSPs. Run the template per pay period or use a preset such as Last Week. See Set the report criteria.

Why can't I see a run my teammate started?

Generated Reports is private to each person. Ask your teammate to send you the file, or run the shared template yourself.

Why are SSNs and dates of birth hidden in my report?

These fields are fully masked for Amazon users by default. See Sensitive fields are masked.

Can I fix a DSP's data from a report?

No. Reports are read-only, and Amazon users have view-only access in DSP accounts. Ask the DSP to make the correction in their own account.
