Uzio Payroll Services Now Covers Puerto Rico
We are excited to announce that Uzio Payroll Services has expanded its capabilities to include comprehensive payroll support for clients in Puerto Rico! Uzio will now handle payroll tax calculations, ensuring accurate and compliant deposits and filings with the relevant agencies. This enhancement further extends our reach, offering seamless payroll management for businesses operating in Puerto Rico.
Enhanced Security Measures: Introducing Employer Level Direct Deposit Configuration
We've introduced an employer-level configuration to restrict employees from modifying their direct deposit details. By default, this setting is NO, allowing employees to make changes to their direct deposit information. If you, as an employer, prefer to disallow modifications to this information, you can turn on this configuration by setting it to YES. To enable this setting, navigate to your settings from the left menu and make the change to YES.

Introducing the Project Details Report
In the October'23 release, we've introduced a feature that allows you to set up Projects, customers, and jobs specifically designed for efficient time tracking. To complement this functionality, we've added a new report named the "Project Details Report." This report provides a comprehensive view of all the projects within the system, including details about associated jobs, customers and employees assigned to those projects. To access this report, click Projects and Jobs from the left menu and go to Projects Tab. You would be able to locate this new report available underneath on the projects listing page. You can simply click the download button to access the report.

UZIO HRIS Enhancements
Introducing New Fields into Employee Profile
In our constant bid to ensure that our platform is inclusive and supportive of all individuals, irrespective of their gender, we have provided an number of option to select gender identity, different from the one assigned at birth. We have introduced a new field on the employee profile called as "Gender Identity". By default, this field is hidden. If you, as an employer, wish to enable your employees to capture their Gender Identity, you can turn on this setting to YES. To enable this setting, navigate to your settings from the left menu and make the change to YES.
Once enabled, employees can select a non-binary gender identity that best represents them. For those who prefer not to disclose their gender identity, the "Prefer Not to Say" option is available, ensuring inclusivity and respect for individual privacy. They can also add their own if their preferred identity is not listed.
Recognizing the sensitivity of Gender Identity information, it is hidden from specific employer users unless access is granted in the role assigned to the employer users. This can be done by adjusting the permissions in the role from the Manage Users section.
Employees can also specify their preferred pronouns. Once selected, these pronouns will be displayed in various locations, such as beneath the employee's name on the employee listing, the employee profile page, and the celebrations section.
Pronoun displayed on the Employee profile
A new optional field to capture the Marital Status of the employee has been added to the employee’s profile under the Personal Tab. This information is sometimes needed by the 401k recordkeeper or plan provider.

Employees Not On Payroll
We are excited to introduce a new feature, the "Exclude from Payroll" flag to define if employees are not on Payroll. This is designed to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of payroll management for employers. This feature is specifically tailored to meet the dynamic nature of the staffing industry or clients with employees working on assignments This new flag enables employers to manage employees by marking them as excluded from payroll temporarily until the next assignment is given. This will enhance the experience by avoiding the need to terminate and rehire employees; instead, they can be moved to "excluded from payroll" by setting this flag to "YES".

UZIO Time Tracking Enhancements
Set Up and Manage Breaks in UZIO Time Tracking
Uzio's time tracking platform has been enhanced with the introduction of Break Rules setup for time tracking. Previously, the system supported only unpaid breaks. However, the new feature allows you to track both paid and unpaid breaks for your team members throughout the day.
With this release, the Break Rules feature enables you to add and customize break rules in alignment with your company policy, federal regulations, and state compliance. For instance, under California meal break law, a 30-minute unpaid meal break is required when working more than five hours in a day, along with a paid 10-minute rest break for every 4 hours worked. Similar regulations exist in other states. All such rules can now be configured in your UZIO Time Tracking account. It is advisable to consult with your HR legal advisor to determine the specific break rules applicable to your company, as UZIO does not provide guidance on this matter.
When configuring these rules, you have the flexibility to specify whether breaks should be paid, unpaid, repeated, or automatically deducted or flagged if an employee miss taking a break.
To set up the break rules, navigate to the newly introduced 'Break Rules' page under time tracking settings. From there, you can easily set up and assign the break rules to employees, providing you with a seamless and tailored approach to managing breaks.
