UZIO Payroll Enhancements
Next Day or Same Day Payroll
Given the fast-paced nature of your business, it may not always be possible to finalize your payroll on time. However, this should not prevent you from paying your employees on time, whether through direct deposit or checks. With this product update, we have implemented a change that enables you to run any type of payroll with direct deposits for the Next day's payroll. Previously, this option was not available as it required a minimum of 2 business days between the process date and pay date. The system now offers two options for your convenience:
- Process Payroll Normally: You can process your payroll normally without changing employees' payment methods to checks. By selecting this option, to ensure on-time direct deposit, it may require wiring the funds and some additional cost for the next day payroll. Therefore, you must reach out to the support team, or they may also reach out to you with instructions on the expedited fund transfer process.
- I'll Issue Checks: By selecting this option, all your employees will be converted to be paid by check, which means you will need to issue checks for them.
Same Day Payroll is also available for direct deposits; however, it is time-bound and requires wiring the funds on time, also incurring some additional cost to process the same day payroll. Therefore, you must reach out to the support team, or they may also contact you with instructions on the expedited fund transfer process.
Contractors Check Printing
To facilitate your contractor payments, we have added a check printing feature to our contractor payroll. Just like employee payroll, you can now generate check stubs for your contractors. These check stubs can be printed on any standard blank check stock or on UZIO prescribed pre-printed check stocks. Click here to learn more about the stock paper and size.
Add a Pay Stub Note or Message
We have introduced a new feature that allows you to add the messages on your employees' pay stubs. You can now add a common message for all employees or a personal message for individual employees.
To add a common message, you will find an icon called "Pay Stub Note" in the header on the earnings grid page. Any message you add here will be printed on the pay stubs of all employees. This can be used for general announcements or holiday greetings.
Common Message
To add a personal message, you will see an icon called "Edit Pay Stub Note" in the Actions column for each employee. By clicking on this icon, you can enter a custom message that will be printed only on the pay stub of that specific employee.
Personalized Message for Individual Employee
If both a common and personal message are provided for an employee, the personal message will take precedence and be printed on the pay stub for that specific employee.

Reporting Enhancements
In this product update, we have expanded the depth of our reporting inventory by introducing additional group by options to the Payroll Allocation Report. We have included new payroll allocation criteria: By Work Location (using the alias name assigned to each Work Location in the UZIO system) and By Division. Each of these group by options is available in both Summary and Detail formats.
Here is an overview of the new options:
Payroll Allocation by Work Location - Summary: This report displays the consolidated payroll output of your company, grouped by work location names, for a selected period.
Payroll Allocation by Work Location - Detail: This report displays the payroll output of each employee under a specific work location, for a selected period.
Payroll Allocation by Division - Summary: This report displays the consolidated payroll output of your company, grouped by business divisions, for a selected period.
Payroll Allocation by Division - Detail: This report displays the payroll output of each employee under a specific business division, for a selected period.
Additionally, the existing options "Group by Department and Work Location State" now have two additional variants, which are the Detail versions.
Payroll Allocation by Department - Detail: This report displays the payroll output of each employee under a specific department, for a selected period.
Payroll Allocation by Work Location State - Detail: This report displays the payroll output of each employee under a specific work location state, for a selected period.
UZIO Time Tracking Enhancements
Terminated Employee’s Visibility in Time Tracking System
Previously, the terminated employees were always visible in the time tracking system. With this update, terminated employees' visibility in the time tracking system has been controlled to provide a cleaner and more efficient experience. Now, once an employee is terminated, their presence in the time tracking system will be limited until the pay period that includes their termination date. This means that terminated employees will still be visible during the relevant pay period, ensuring accurate record-keeping and payroll processing. However, once that pay period has passed, terminated employees will no longer be displayed in the time tracking overview page and in reports.
UZIO HRIS Enhancements
Automatic Generation of Employee ID
Currently, when adding an employee to the UZIO system, users are required to input a unique employee ID, serving as a distinct identifier for each employee. This process required users to remember and manage sequential IDs, potentially leading to a complex user experience.
We are pleased to announce that, based on user feedback, an update has been implemented to enhance the experience. This update introduces a configuration option for automatic generation of employee IDs when adding new employees, simplifying the employee addition process, and reducing the burden on users to manually assign IDs. By default, this feature is turned off, but users can enable it through the settings. Once enabled, the system prompts users to provide three inputs: prefix, number, and suffix. While the prefix and suffix are optional, the number is a mandatory field when utilizing automatic generation.
Once the feature is enabled, the system generates employee IDs automatically, ensuring unique identifiers for each employee. However, it also offers the flexibility for users to modify the system-generated ID if necessary. This customization capability allows users to align the ID with specific requirements or preferences.
Easy Navigation across Employee Profiles
The employee navigation has been made easy, allowing users to seamlessly move between employee profiles. Previously, users had to exit the profile of one employee and then enter the profile of another employee, causing disruption to their workflow. With this product update, users can now easily traverse or navigate between different employee profiles without the need to exit and re-enter each time, rather can use “Previous” or “Next” buttons to access other employees. This streamlined process saves time and effort for users who need to work on multiple employee profiles. Additionally, the navigation feature considers any filters or searches applied to the employee listing, ensuring that users can access specific employee profiles efficiently. Overall, this improvement enhances the user experience by providing a more intuitive and efficient way to navigate among employee profiles.
Employee Listing: Default Display of Active Employees
The employee listing has been enhanced to provide a better user experience for Employer or Broker users. Previously, the listing displayed both active and terminated employees, which could create clutter and reduce efficiency. However, with this product update, the system now automatically filters out terminated employees, displaying only active employees by default. This enhancement streamlines the employee listing by focusing solely on the relevant and currently active workforce, allowing users to quickly locate and access the employees they need to work with. However, users retain the flexibility to remove the filter and view just the terminated employees or both, if desired.
Resend Registration Links to Prospective Employees
Within the Hire and onboarding module of the UZIO system, an enhancement has been implemented to improve the registration process for prospective employees. With this enhancement, admin users now can resend the registration link to prospective employees who may have missed or not received the initial registration invitation. Additionally, the enhancement also provides the capability to view usernames for prospective employees. This allows users to easily identify and manage the user accounts associated with prospective employees, enhancing administrative oversight and user management within the UZIO system.
