The UZIO Mobile App has also been updated with Time Tracking and Time Off features. Employees will have access to a new version of the UZIO Mobile app by January 26th, 2023.

Automatic Salary Proration for mid-cycle hiring, termination and salary changes
There are several situations in which an employee receives a prorated salary. For example,
- When a salaried employee is hired in the middle of a pay period
- When an employee is terminated in the middle of a pay period
- When an employee receives a pay raise in the middle of a pay period
In all such cases, admins are required to prorate employees’ salaries as per their actual working days and salaries during those days to ensure the employees are paid accurately. Previously, in UZIO payroll the salary proration was to be done manually by the payroll admins.
With this product update, a new feature has been added to UZIO payroll through which the system automatically calculates the prorated salaries in the scenarios mentioned above. Additionally, for payroll clients, when a compensation change is made, the system informs the user that exactly how the system will handle it and when manual intervention is required.
When you run payroll, the system highlights the employee with an icon that indicates their salary is prorated. The icon will display more information when you hover over it.

Adding an E-signature to a Check
Check stubs for your employees will no longer need to be signed or stamped manually. UZIO payroll now supports E-signature with this product update. To save your time of manually signing each check, you can upload a digital image of your signature (also called an electronic signature or e-signature) to be printed on your check. The Check Stub report for pre-printed check format or blank check stock, will include the e-signature after the e-signature is set up in the system.
To add the e-signature
- Go to Payroll > Payroll Setup > Check Signatory
- Add Signature > Draw or Upload Signature > Save

Block Federal and State Income Tax Withholding
UZIO payroll provides a way to stop withholding Federal and State income taxes for an employee, but it was possible to set up through UZIO's support team. With this product update, we've removed the restriction and now admins and employees can set this up themselves when required.
UZIO Time Tracking and Time Off Enhancements
Choose time tracking platform either mobile, web, or both
Time tracking module has been enhanced to provide a choice of platforms. It is now possible to choose which platform you would like to use to keep track of your employees' work hours. You can select one of the following options from the Additional settings page depending on your business needs. It is set up as both a mobile app and web platform by default.
- Only Mobile App
- Only Web Platform
- Both (Mobile App & Web Platform )
- None

Geofence restriction for Clock In/Out
In order to implement a strict geofence for time tracking, UZIO has introduced two settings that prevent employees from clocking in or out outside a geofence. It is not by default applied to your employees, but it can be if you wish. On the additional settings page, you can change the settings according to your business needs.

As soon as the geofence restrictions are applied, employees will receive a geofence restrictions message and they will not be able to clock in/clock out outside of the geofence.

Email reminder for long running time entries
There are many instances where employees forget to clock out when they leave the workplace, resulting in long running time entries. With this product update, the UZIO time tracking module sends reminder emails to both employees and employers. Once a time entry reaches 10 hours of continuation, a reminder email will be sent and when it reaches 24 hours, a second reminder will be sent. Reminder emails will be sent to the employee for whom time entry is running and the employees reporting manager. In the absence of a reporting manager, it will be sent to the Payroll and HR admins, else in the end it will be sent to the employer administrator.

PTO balance remains intact on termination
Previously, the system zeroed employee PTO balances on employee termination. With this product update, the system is updated so it does not affect any PTO balance or future approved or unapproved leaves. As a result, admins can better decide which way to process PTO balances into payroll in accordance with the company's time off policies, employee agreements, and work state regulations.

The employee’s job details page is restructured. The information is now divided into four sections

In this new structure, each of the sections above can be edited independently.

Set compensation changes to take effect by pay period
With this product update, employers are given the option of selecting a pay period to update compensation information for any employee. This will help employers make a change to an employee's compensation effective from a specific pay period. The existing way of making a salary change by effective date is also available.

UZIO Integration with Human Interest (401k provider)
We are pleased to inform you that UZIO is now integrated with Human Interest (401K provider).
- 360° integration with Human Interest to automate the bi-directional data exchange ( UZIO -> Human Interest and Human Interest -> UZIO).
- Automatic payroll deductions & submissions to Human Interest
- Employees rate changes are updated in the UZIO payroll system to withhold 401K deductions.
You won't have to handle plan changes or updates manually anymore. This integration eliminates complicated manual data entry work and the associated risk of human error.
